TEEN Mom Jenelle Evans and her husband, David Eason, are under investigation by Child Protective Services following his alleged attack on her son Jace, the U.S. Sun has exclusively reported.

The criminal investigation comes less than one year after Jenelle was granted custody of her teenage son.

What happened between Barbara and Jenelle Evans?

Former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle gave birth to her first son, Jace Evans, in 2009.

The following year, Jenelle signed over full custody of Jace to her mother, Barbara Evans, while facing marijuana possession and breaking and entering charges.

Beginning in 2016, the mother-daughter duo entered an intense legal battle over custody of Jace.

Though Jenelle had all court documents sealed, Jenelle was very vocal about Jace's "out of control behavior" and often said that Barbara was unfit to take care of her son.

Jenelle and Barbara, who have had an on-again, off-again relationship for years, are no longer on speaking terms.

Does Jenelle have custody over Jace?

Jenelle was granted full custody of Jace in March 2023.

The custody arrangement was made official after the reality TV star and her mother signed the papers on March 16 following more than a decade of battling in court.

Speaking about the ruling on social media at the time, Jenelle said: "ITS OFFICIAL!

"Words can't describe how happy I truly am. Our family is complete now! Thank you mom."

However, the strained relationship between Jace and Jenelle has come to a head again.

On October 24, The U.S. exclusively reported that Jenelle and her husband David were the subject of a Child Protective Services investigation in their home state of North Carolina after Jace ran away from home for the third time on Thursday, September 28.

David has been accused of allegedly assaulting the teen in front of a neighbor’s home on the same day of his latest disappearance.

David now has a warrant for his arrest after being charged with misdemeanor child abuse.

Shortly after the news broke, Jenelle said on Instagram of the accusations: "You would think police wouldn't make a one-sided police investigation.

"They didn't conduct interviews, didn't ask any information from the parents. This seems like a very bias situation like every time before."

Following his September disappearance, Jace has been in the care of his grandmother Barbara.

Jenelle has one child with David, daughter Ensley, born in 2017. She also shares a son Kaiser, born in 2014, with her ex Nathan Griffith.

Is Jenelle still in contact with Jace's dad?

Jace's father, Andrew Lewis, has claimed to have made several attempts to contact the Teen Mom alum and his son, but Jenelle has allegedly not wanted any involvement.

Andrew left Jenelle in 2009 shortly after Jace was born, claiming he had a modeling job in China. Their tumultuous relationship was featured on the MTV reality series.

Jenelle and Andrew were introduced online in 2007. They met in person days after her 16th birthday.

Andrew has not seen Jace since he was six months old and has not been involved in the custody battle.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun in April 2023, Andrew opened up about his desire to meet Jace.

"Please let me see Jace. That's all I ever wanted.

"Not just me- my family, my cousin, my nephew, my niece, my sister. Just let me see Jace."
