Fans were eager to join in on his conversation as they quickly replied to him in the comments as one said: "Like a war zone. I'm really looking forward to how it ends. But it's so bad to see that.

A second echoed: "Sad but understandable.'

A third asked: "What would you plant instead of the box if you were to do it all over again? Interested to know."

A fourth user expressed: "How much is this costing?"

In the second post, the Gardeners' World presenter snapped a picture of overgrown weeds and hedges on the pathway of his garden, to which he penned: "Big changes afoot in the cottage garden - 30-year-old box hedges finally giving up the fight against box blight."

His 1.2 million Instagram followers were also eager to rush to the comments as they questioned and praised the TV star about his garden choices.

Replying to the post, one person quizzed: "Is it possible to win the fight against box blight?"

A second cheered on: "Good for you, Monty. I get how you will be feeling, leading you to this decision.

"It's a balance of caring for your 'Ark' and having a healthy garden.

"I have had to do the same... but it's actually led to such fun re-designing and replanting!"

"It's such an effort! It's like having another 4 children sitting in the garden under attack!"

In both posts, his followers also discussed amongst themselves gardening tips and what techniques work best for the Autumn season weather.
