Ryan Gravenberch has lauded his new Liverpool team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai - describing his ball-striking ability as "crazy".

Gravenberch, 21, joined the Reds from Bayern Munich on deadline day. He's featured four times in the Premier League since his transfer and is part of Jurgen Klopp's new-look midfield, which also contains fellow summer signings Alexis Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.

Yet it's the latter star who's really impressed Gravenberch. Szoboszlai, 22, has featured in all of Liverpool's games this season, scoring twice. The Hungary international's screamer from around 25 against Leicester in the Carabao Cup was a particular highlight.

Gravenberch has praised Szoboszlai's ability to leave Liverpool fans excited about the future. Klopp hopes the pair will form a good partnership in the heart of his midfield and win several trophies over the next few years after a difficult 2022/23 campaign.

Liverpool missed out on Champions League qualification and failed to win a major trophy last season. They already look like a much better team this time around, as they sit just three points behind Premier League leaders Tottenham in the title race.

Liverpool are also going well in Europe - winning both of their Europa League games so far - and they've reached the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. The Reds are among the favourites to win the latter competition with Manchester City already knocked out.

Szoboszlai has played a big role in Liverpool's revival, as Gravenberch protests. "I think it was Dom Szoboszlai," Gravenberch told Sky Sports when asked which player surprised him in training. "Because this guy's shot is... it's crazy!

"Also sometimes in training, sometimes we shoot after training and it's like 'one, two, three', they go all in. Crazy things. So I think it's Dom with his shot."

Gravenberch also revealed the role Klopp and Virgil van Dijk, who was appointed Liverpool's captain during the summer, played in persuading him to quit Bayern for Liverpool. The youngster is regarded as one of the most talented midfielders in Europe.

Gravenberch, who plays with Van Dijk at international level, said: "I spoke a little bit with Virg and he said, 'Liverpool are a top club. You’re going to play for sure'. He said things to me and also that gave me a good feeling to come here."

Liverpool's newest signing added: "I spoke with the coach and he gave me a good feeling. He said to me, 'I want you'. And he gave me his plans, he explained everything and he gave me such a good feeling that my decision was a fast one."
