Matthew Perry's cause of death delayed as reasons for tragedy could take months

Matthew Perry 's cause of death might not be revealed for another four to six months.

Initial toxicology tests did not show any fentanyl or meth in Matthew's system at the time of death. The tests aren't as in depth as the full toxicology reports that are still pending but for the time being, meth or fentanyl overdoses have been ruled out as the cause of death, reports TMZ.

The full test will reveal if the former Friends star had harmful amounts of prescription drugs in his system at the time of his death. The results will likely take anywhere from 4-6 months to be returned and will allow the coroner to confirm the cause of death.

The Chandler Bing actor from one of the most popular sitcoms of all time tragically passed away on Saturday due to an apparent drowning in a hot tub or jacuzzi. Law enforcement sources told the news site that prescription drugs were found in his home, reporting that authorities “found antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs and a COPD drug in the house”.

It is not confirmed whether Perry had any drugs in his system at the time of passing, and an autopsy by the Los Angeles County Coroner is set to be conducted today (October 29). The results of this autopsy may not be known for months.

Matt and his co-stars won a host of awards for their performances in the 90s classic. However, sadly, the star admitted he was plagued by 'crippling anxiety' whenever he was in front of the camera.

Opening up about his experience, Matt said he suffered from "sweating and convulsions" while shooting every episode of the hit show. While recording the sitcom, which was filmed in front of a live audience, the star confessed he felt like he would "die" if they weren't laughing at his jokes.

"At least to me, I felt like I was going to die if they didn't laugh," he admitted, much to his co-stars' surprise. "It’s not healthy for sure, but I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn’t laugh and I would sweat and just go into convulsions if I didn’t get the laugh I was supposed to get. I would freak out. This pressure left me in a bad place."

A shocked Lisa Kudrow told him: "You didn’t tell us that. I don’t remember you ever saying that." In a heartbreaking admission, Matt confirmed: "Oh yeah, I felt like that every single night."
