Morning Live's chef Julie Lin had an alternative way to cook the breakfast stable.

She guided viewers through the two-part process as Gethin Jones and Michelle Ackerley watched on.

Julie first placed the egg gently into a bowl containing vinegar and water.

She told Morning Live fans how the mixed solution would 'cure' the egg by leaving it for 15 mins.

Afterwards she advised on placing it into a simmering pot of hot water to cook it.

However, fans at home weren't sold on her method and took the social media to comment.

One said: "So unnecessary. There is so much advice about vinegar, water temp, pan size etc. It's all nonsense. I stuck with some advice someone gave me once and it has worked every time. Just use, the freshest possible eggs. That's it."

A second wrote: "15+ minutes to cook poached eggs plus a waste of vinegar. Just poach an egg the way normal people poach them.
Talk about reinventing the wheel."

"Dreadful poached egg. Honestly, absolutely terrible," said another harsh viewer.

While a fourth branded her creation "runny and under-cooked".

Meanwhile, this week Kym Marsh returned to the show after taking a break away from the studio.

It followed her father, who has terminal prostate cancer, receiving the devastating news that his cancer had spread.
