EASTENDERS actor Shaun Williamson is best known for playing loveable Barry Evans - yet his real name has a huge link to the soap.
The BBC One show favourite, 58 - who recently told how he has taken on reality TV jobs to pay his mortgage - started off as a bit-part actor in EastEnders in 1994.

Since his character's on-screen death in 2004 - which saw him pushed off a cliff by girlfriend Janine Butcher - Shaun has been continually linked with the Barry moniker.
Yet his real name has now been revealed - and fans will be delighted with the nod to the BBC soap.

She told the Daily Star: "It’s amazing working with Shaun, he’s such a lovely, lovely guy.
"I've really enjoyed working with Shaun, no Barry, no Shaun!
"Some people call him Barry because of his character on EastEnders but he says he’s been called worse things.
"And he claims that Barry is actually on his passport because it’s his actual middle name."
The ITV star then added: "I mean, when he was doing the advert he literally reminded me of Barry from EastEnders because of how funny he was."
Since leaving the BBC soap, Shaun has revealed that he would love to swap his EastEnders fame for a new role on Emmerdale in The Woolpack playing a "cockney character".
