MASTERCHEF contestant Ayesha Kalaji broke down tonight after receiving a surprising reaction to her seafood dish.

Chef Patron Ayesha, 32, shed happy tears after the judges praised her stone bass, which she served with a courgette flower, ricotta mix and pastry nest.

Marcus Wareing said the dish was "perfectly cooked" and "packed flavour" while Monica Galetti complimented its "juicy" flavours.

Her only feedback was to present it more nicely next time, which she took onboard.

It got off to a very good start, but then got flustered when asked what he was doing with the squid.

"I don't think I want to mix it together [the squid and the bechamel], but I feel it should be mixed together," Simon confessed.

Gregg Wallace asked: "The raw squid and the bechamel?"

Simon replied: "But it doesn't make sense. You don't want to fry it first and the inks will be greasy."

He added: "I think I need to add the squid raw, cut it smaller, put it in and then it'll cook through quicker. That makes more sense."

However that was the wrong decision as one shouldn't put raw squid in a croquette because it won't cook.
