Ratcliffe will takeover football operations and he is ready to bring in his own chiefs to fill the most important positions.

Man Utd CEO Richard Arnold is already in the process of leaving the Red Devils after 16 years at the club.

And now football director Murtough is set to follow him through the Old Trafford exit door.

Ratcliffe has demanded answers as to why the club has splashed £1.2billion on players since Sir Alex Ferguson left with him unhappy over a number of acquisitions.

SunSport exclusively revealed that the talks left several chiefs at risk of the sack, including Arnold and Murtough.

And reports from MEN now claim he is "definitely going" when Ratcliffe arrives.

It would see the end of Murtough's ten-year stay at Man Utd.

He was given the job as football director after Ed Woodward left the position in March 2021.

Meanwhile, Ratcliffe is already lining up his replacements with pal Sir Dave Brailsford making many trips to Carrington in recent weeks to ensure they can get their feet under the table as quickly as possible.

Former Juventus chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc has emerged as one of the favourites to land a job due to his connections to Ineos.

Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman is also in the frame to lead transfers.
