I'm A Celeb's Dec's agonising injury in trial that needed intensive treatment

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! stars Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have headed Down Under for another series of the hit ITV show which has seen 12 celebrities enter the Australian jungle to take on gruesome Bushtucker trials in return for meals for their campmates.

While the public will vote for which celebrity they want to see take part in each gruesome challenge, it's the last four contestants who get to take part in the infamous cyclone trial, where they have to try and stay on a star while being battered by wind machines, giant balls and paint bombs.

It looks like a lot of fun but show hosts Ant and Dec gave it a go a few years back for charity, with disastrous results. Dec was so badly injured he was in agony and needed six months of physio.

In 2012 instead of being on the sidelines watching, Joe Swash welcomed Ant and Dec featured in a special edition of the Celebrity Cyclone challenge in a bid to raise £100,000 for the Text Santa charity. Each star marker they reached was worth £25,000, meaning if they reached all four they would raise a total of £100,000 for Text Santa. They were given ten minutes to try and get up the slippery hill, but managed to win the jackpot money for charity despite Dec being left in agony after popping his shoulder.

On a previous show, Ant said: "We've done the trial. We did it for charity years ago, didn't you pop your shoulder?" To which Dec replied: "Yeah I did. I ended up in physio for six months afterwards. But it was great fun."

Laughing Ant added: "Fun times though guys, fun times."
