In that time the star scored two goals for Liverpool in 31 appearances.

One of those goals, which would prove to be his only goal in England for the club, came against arch rivals Manchester United in a 4-1 win under Rafael Benitez in March 2009.

His other goal for the Reds came four days prior in the Champions League against Real Madrid.

The Italian could play as a left-back or left winger and made a name for himself for his impact off the bench.

He originally headed to Anfield from Udinese in a deal reported to be worth £7million in 2008.

The now 42-year-old would typically be seen with a skinhead look.

However, now managing Serie C side Pro Vercelli, his new career has also taken on a fresh look with a long head of hair.

In case you haven't got it yet, the mystery star in question is Andrea Dossena.

Having started his career with Verona, leaving Liverpool in 2010 would see Dossena return to Italy to play for Napoli.

Return spells in England with Sunderland and Leyton Orient between 2013 and 2015 would follow.

Dossena finally hung up his boots in 2017.

He then made first foray into management in 2019 with Serie D side Crema.

Things are not going too badly either, with the club seventh in the division after the first 14 games of the season.
