PRINCE Andrew appears to have been given a royal pardon as he joined the King to swear in Windsor Castle's new religious chief.

Andy, 63, was stripped of all royal duties in shame by the late Queen after he paid millions to his sex abuse accuser almost two years ago.

But he was invited to be with the King and Queen at Windsor Castle to welcome the new Dean of Windsor this week.

He joined a reception at the Castle before an inauguration of Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth at St George's Chapel, The Sun can reveal.

The disgraced Duke of York was pictured in his suit and tie driving his £220,000 green Bentley along the Long Walk on Thursday ahead of the ceremony.

But his attendance was kept out of the official Court Circular which is a public record of all royal jobs.

The Duke of York appeared at the bash as a private individual and not in any royal role, it is understood.

Sources say although Andrew is no longer a working royal he attends events as a member of the Royal Family.

He was banished from public aspects of the Royal Garter at St George's Chapel in June.

A poll earlier this year saw Brits name Andrew as the nation's least favourite royal.
