Mariah Carey is undoubtedly the Queen of Christmas and every December fills our hearts with festive joy as she performs renditions of the song that we will never get bored of.
But how does the star maintain her glamorous looks?
Here’s an insight into Mariah’s beauty routine that keeps her looking as stunning today as she did back in 1994, when her Christmas classic All I Want for Christmas is You was released.
Bathing in cold milk
One of Mariah’s more unconventional beauty secrets is that she likes to take a bath in cold milk in order to help moisturise her skin.
In a 2018 interview, Mariah was asked by The Guardian whether it was true that she only bathed in French mineral water.

Her response was: “No, I bathe in milk. Sometimes I use milk as a beauty treatment. I don’t want to give away all my secrets.”
Strict diet
Mariah has a strict diet to keep her looking so fabulous, and eats the same meal every day.
The star previously told E! "It's really hard. My diet, you would hate it.
"All you eat is Norwegian salmon and capers every day. That's it."
Sleep masseuse
Mariah knows the importance of beauty sleep and even hires a masseuse to help relax her so that she can get to sleep easier.
The star explained that on nights when she struggles to sleep, "I’ll get a masseuse to come, to make it a relaxed atmosphere.”
A source once told US Weekly that Mariah spent over £1,000 on an eight hour massage to help her relax, and spent the whole time watching Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy film Bruno on repeat.
Beauty sleep
As well as hiring a masseuse to make sure that she is able to get to sleep easily, Mariah is reported to take sleep extremely seriously and sometimes sleeps for 15 hours a night.
The pop star is also reported to surround herself with 20 humidifiers whilst she sleeps to help keep her vocal chords moisturised.
Mascara ban
Mariah believes that less is more when it comes to makeup, and keeps herself looking fabulous by banning makeup artists from putting mascara on her.

The star previously told Vogue: “I hate mascara. I never wear it.
“Whenever a makeup artist tries to put it on me, I throw a fit.”
She added: “If you’re not wearing a lot of makeup, you don’t have to take a lot of it off. So, my goal is to wear the least amount of makeup possible so I don’t have to steam my face and take it all off.”
All about the eyes
Despite Mariah’s hatred of mascara, her longtime makeup artist and friend Kristofer Buckle, told Who What Wear that her looks are all about the eyes.
He said: "Mariah’s look is eye-centric… period. I love the Swarovski earth-toned crystal eyes I did for her Magical Christmas Special on Apple+. I glued 50 stones to each eye over a smoky chocolate and gold eyeshadow to create a magical light-show effect."
The right lighting
Mariah is very particular about the type of lighting she sits in and in her home only has recessed lighting, chandeliers and candles.
The star believes that overhead lighting is abusive and often requests lamps in her tour bus so that she isn’t exposed to unflattering light.
Botox and filler
Mariah is undoubtedly a natural beauty, however, Dr Ross Perry, medical director of Cosmedics said that she is likely to have had a few cosmetic procedures over the years.
He told Fabulous: “Mariah Carey looks great for her age, but no doubt has had help along the way in the form of regular ‘tweakments’.
“ Looking at recent pictures of Mariah, I would say she has regular Botox treatments every 3-4 months as she has very few lines one would expect for someone her age.
“I suggest she has Botox around the hairline, crows feet, frown line and possibly beside the nose.”
He continued: “Also, as we age, our lips lose volume, so I would suggest Mariah has had a tiny bit of lip filler.
“She may also have had a breast enlargement, but this could be due to weight gain.
“Mariah has also invested in teeth veneers which can also help maintain a youthful appearance.”
