Lisa Faulkner has revealed a surprising feature in the bedroom she shares with husband John Torode.
The actress turned TV chef gave fans a glimpse into her boudoir as she tried on her latest purchase and posted a video to her Instagram stories. As she modelled a pair of new camel coloured combat trousers, the 51-year-old declared she was “in love” and admitted she used to own “so many of these in the 90s”.
But in the background she unintentionally revealed that her and John favoured a pink carpet in the bedroom of the stripy variety. Up on the ceiling a posh chandelier could also be seen hanging, which matched the huge gold gilded mirror she recorded the video in.
In the short clip, Lisa, who married John in 2019 after a four-year romance, looked pleased as punch with her new purchase and said: “Oh my God, I am in love! I have been waiting for these, the combats from Style Junkie. I had ordered the Jennifer Aniston ones, that they called the Jennifer Aniston ones, and I never got them because they sold out straight away. But these are just gorgeous. I think I’m going to live in these. Oh my god, I had so many of these in the nineties. I love them. Style Junkie you’ve done it again!”
Lisa and MasterChef star John have recently been sharing pics from their travels as they filmed brand new show, John & Lisa’s Food Trip Down Under. The five-week ITV series, which kicked off on January 20, follows the pair as they drive around western Australia sampling local food and wine along the way.
Bernice Blackstock suffers new blow in Emmerdale as she struggles with illnessJohn, who was born and raised in Melbourne, was thrilled to explore new parts of Australia for the series - and to have his wife at his side. And he says viewers will see a side of their marriage they haven’t seen before as they are being themselves so much they “forgot the cameras were there”.
He shared: “Whenever we do television together we are just being us. How we are on Weekend Kitchen for example is just how we are. For this series we got to wear GoPro cameras when we were driving together and were told that that was some of the best material because it was just so natural - with the odd funny remark or a grab of some chocolate from the glovebox.” Lisa added: “For us, it was just great to taste and discover so much together as we went along - and to not do all the cooking for a change.”
The couple admit they have even considered moving Down Under after filming the show. Lisa said: “We did come away thinking ‘I want to live here’... it was just so cool. I mean if Australia wasn’t so far away we’d be there all the time. But what was lovely about all of the areas we visited was that you could be in the southern forest one moment and then within 40 minutes, you could be by the sea on a white sandy beach. It was awesome, really amazing.”
