PREMIER LEAGUE icon Harry Kewell has returned to management three years after his horror show at non-league Barnet.

The Champions League winner with Liverpool has taken the reigns at Japense side Yokohama F.Marinos — where Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou cut his teeth for almost four years.

Kewell had been working under his fellow Aussie as a coach at Celtic.

He stayed on at Parkhead with Brendan Rodgers when Big Ange departed for London.

But Kewell is now back in the dugout after replacing ex-Crystal Palace and Wolves defender Kevin Muscat in Japan.

He said: “I am incredibly proud and excited to represent Yokohama F.Marinos.

“I would like to thank the club for putting their trust in me to take the team forward.

“There is a lot of work ahead of us, and I am eager to get on to the training ground to start working with the players.

“We will work together as we aim to bring success to the club. The hard work begins now.”

Yokohama, who won the Japanese League title in 2019 under Postecoglou and in 2022 under Muscat, finished second to Vissel Kobe last season.

Kewell will be hoping his time in Japan goes better than it did the last time he was at the helm.

He lasted just seven games with National League side Barnet before being sacked in September 2021.

Kewell failed to win any of his matchesin charge.

And before Barnet, he spent just two months with Notts County after three wins in 14 games.
