David Soul was an American-British actor and singer born on August 28, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois.
Soul got his first acting role in 1967 when he appeared on the TV series Flipper as Dennis Blake.
In 1968, Soul landed his first gig as a series regular as Joshua Bolt in Here Comes the Brides.

The show ran until 1979. In 2004, Soul reprised his role in the movie remake of the same name starring Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller as the new Starsky and Hutch.
The actor went on to appear in an array of films with his last acting credit being the 2013 film, Filth.
On January 5, 2023, Soul's wife Helen Snell revealed the famed actor passed away the day prior.
In a heartbreaking statement, Snell said: "David Soul - beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother - died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family.
"He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend.
"His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched."

At the time the two met, Helen Snell was doing public relations for the play Deathtrap.
According to her LinkedIn, Snell graduated from the University of Leads with a bachelor's degree in English and history of art.
She then went on to work as a marketing manager for The Magenta Partnership.

In an op-ed on Soul's website, the actor paid tribute to his wife saying she's the reason he got his British citizenship.
Soul began the piece by saying: "Twelve years ago, I met the most beautiful, wonderful woman I could possibly imagine. Her name is Helen Snell."
He went on to say it wasn't love at first sight saying he "wasn't one of her favorite clients!"
Eventually, the two fell in love and got married on June 26, 2010.

Before Soul's marriage to Snell, the Starsky and Hutch actor was married four times.
In 1964, Soul married his first wife Mirriam Russeth. The two were only married for a year before divorcing in 1965.
He then married actress, Karen Carlson in 1968. The two were married for nearly a decade but eventually called it quits in 1977.
Three years after his second divorce, Soul was married to Patti Carnel Sherman in 1980.
The former couple divorced in 1986.
His fourth wife was actress Julia Nickson, whom he married in 1987. Nickson and Soul were together for six years before their divorce in 1993.
Soul remained unmarried for nearly two decades until he married his longtime wife, Helen Snell.

Over the years, David Soul welcomed six children throughout his marriages.
His children include five sons and one daughter.
Not much is known about his children except that his daughter, China whom he shared with Julia Nickson is also a musician.
On his website, Soul credited his daughter for having "written and recorded her first album, Secrets & Words," in 2010.
In addition to having six children, Soul was also the grandfather of seven grandchildren, according to his website.
