Who is Dave Kroupa?
Dave Kroupa is an auto repair worker who moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2012.
He had just ended a long-term relationship with the mother of his two children when he began looking for a more casual relationship.
That's when he met the two women who would form the deadly love triangle that shocked the nation.

He first met Cari Farver at the auto shop where he worked and said he immediately felt a spark.
The two dated for about two weeks before she mysteriously vanished.
Despite her disappearance, Cari sent him around 15,000 threatening emails and about 50,000 harassing texts over the next three years.
How did Dave Kroupa and Liz Golyar meet?
Around the same time he met Cari, Dave created a profile on a dating app where he met Liz Golyar.
The two bonded over their love of motorcycles and Golyar was okay with Dave wanting to keep things casual as well.
Cari went missing shortly after Dave met Golyar and Golyar also claimed she had received threatening messages from Cari.
Apart from the scary messages, in August 2013 Golyar claimed Cari had burned down her house and killed her two dogs, cat, and pet snake in the process.
In 2015, Golyar also accused Cari of shooting her in the leg, which aroused the police's suspicion.
Law enforcement discovered that no one, including her family, had seen Cari since 2012.
They eventually concluded that Golyar had murdered Cari and behind the messages all along, after finding her fingerprints in Cari's car.

Golyar was arrested for the murder in December 2016 and sentenced to life in prison the following year.
She is currently serving a life sentence at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women.
The deadly love triangle is the subject of a Netflix documentary entitled Love, Stalker, Killer.
The thrilling documentary is set to be released on February 9, 2024.
