Soap star Amy Nuttall hs confirmed she is back together with her husband Andrew Buchan, despite the devastating way she found out he was 'cheating'.
The former Emmerdale and Downton Abbey actress, 41, was left heartbroken when Andrew walked out on her last year after falling for one of his co-stars. He moved in with actress and BBC crime drama Better co-star Leila Farzad, 42. Amy and Andrew got back together after the heartbreak only to split again months later. In a new interview, Amy has confirmed they are back together once more.
Andrew shares two children with Amy after they married 11 years ago. Leila was also married at the time of their alleged affair. Sources claimed last year that Andrew told Amy he was leaving her just days before Christmas. Amy was said to have suspected Andrew was cheating on herwhen she found lingerie he allegedly had bought for another woman, as it was not in her size.
Another tell-tale sign her husband was playing away was him allegedly being ‘away a lot’ and ‘staying in hotels near to their home’. Following the reports, Leila was spotted with husband James Maizels as they both wore their wedding rings. Last June, it was reported Amy was thought to be back with her husband Andrew.
The actor was spotted wearing his wedding ring as he left the family’s Buckinghamshire home. It came after claims Amy was "crushed and crying every day" after discovering her husband had been unfaithful. However, the reunion was short lived as Amy kicked him out last August.
Amy Nuttall 'rumbled husband Andrew Buchan's affair' over detail in new lingerieAt the time, a source told The Sun: “It took a lot for Amy to give the marriage another chance but she thought it was worth one final roll of the dice. There is no suggestion he has cheated again, but as far as she is concerned this is it. She is obviously gutted but also accepts that their time together has come to an end." Friends said Andrew failed to stick to marriage 'rules' drawn up by broken Amy.
The first rule, a source told The Sun, was that Andrew was banned from contacting Leila. The second was that he must check in via FaceTime when working away from home. Thirdly, the couple would reassess their careers to ensure equality and the fourth rule was for both to have access to the other's phone at all times. The final three clauses involved the '777 approach' whereby couples have a date every seven days, a night away every seven weeks and an adults-only holiday every seven months.
Amy and Andrew started dating back in 2007 and have two children together - a daughter who was born in April 2015, and a younger son. The couple have appeared to reconciled as speaking to The Sunday Times, Amy addressed their reunion during an interview about her finances.
Discussing her yearly salary, Amy said: “Generally speaking, in the last financial year, what can I tell you? Below a hundred grand, but I’m married so it all goes into one pot. So it’s not as scary because I can lean on that.” She went on to say “I’m the joint owner of our comfortable family home in Buckinghamshire. We owned a smaller house before.”
