ONE iPhone user shared a sentimental story on social media about an Apple feature they call "amazing."

In a recent Reddit post, a user revealed they're thankful for the iPhone's Live Photos tool following the death of their parents.

"Both of my parents died last year and one of the things I missed about them was their voice," the Reddit user said at the beginning of their thread.

"I have a lot of pictures obviously, but no videos. It never crossed my mind how I wished to have a stupid, simple video with them and their voice... I just want to remember their voices," they continued.

However, after going through their Live Photos, they could replay snippets of their parents talking or laughing.

'My wife wants to change our four-year-old's name but I think it is too late''My wife wants to change our four-year-old's name but I think it is too late'

For this reason, the user, who goes by the handle @Skend24, called them the most beautiful photos they ever took.

"Apple, whoever did this feature, thank you from the bottom of my heart," they said.

"It literally changed my life for the better and I can’t even describe how much it means to me," they added.

Since going live, the Reddit post garnered hundreds of upvotes and several responses in the comments.

"I honestly never realized the value of it until I stumbled upon some old pictures with loved ones and played them live," one person remarked.

"Small comments, half-jokes, and laughter are forever preserved in those few seconds that I forgot all about!" they added.

"I never looked at it that way, but reading your experience helped me re-think that feature. Thanks for sharing!" another person commented.

"Thanks for this! Like OP I also loved the live photos feature because of the same reasons," a third Reddit user noted.

Apple launched Live Photos in September 2015 along with the iPhone 6S series.

HOW TO USE LIVE PHOTOS

A Live Photo captures what happens just before and after you take your photo, including the audio.

'I hate how unique my baby's name is - I'm desperate for more parents to use it''I hate how unique my baby's name is - I'm desperate for more parents to use it'

To take Live Photos with your iPhone, first, you need to head to your Camera app.

Make sure the Camera is set to Photo mode and that Live Photo is turned on.

When Live Photo is on, the Live Photo button appears at the top of the camera screen.

If you see a slash through the Live Photo button, it means the feature is off.

You can simply tap the button to turn Live Photo on or off.

Once it's turned on, you can take a Live Photo by tapping the Shutter button.

To play the Live Photo back, tap the photo and hold the screen to play it.
