FORMER Big Brother contestant Trish Balusa has slammed ITV bosses for including Kate Middleton’s estranged uncle Gary Goldsmith in this year's Celebrity Big Brother line-up.

The learning and behavioural specialist, 33, made an appearance this week on radio DJ and presenter Will Njobvu, podcast Reality with Will.

The Big Brother Series 20 star broke down in tears as she unpacked the ordeal following her eviction, which included the resurfacing of old and offensive tweets.

The controversial contestant faced a backlash when horrific posts dating back to 2012 came into the public domain.

In the shocking messages, she made racist jibes about Asians and homophobic comments about the LGBTQ+ community.

Trish apologised profusely after the tweets had been uncovered, and assured Big Brother fans that she would do better moving forward, especially as she had called out discrimination on the hit show.

When asked by presenter Will if she would do anything differently, an emotional Trish said:  “I can think ‘maybe you should have deleted this by yourself’ or ‘maybe you shouldn’t have tweeted it’, or it also shouldn’t have been picked up. All of these things can be correct.”

Through tear-filled eyes she continued: “I am a human being. You can criticise me for the things that I’ve done wrong in the past, I own it.

She continued: “But you have to understand that it has an effect on me as well. I received death threats, people telling me ‘You should die’ and talking about my child.”

The tweets resulted in Trish reportedly being banned from appearing on Big Brother’s spin-off show Big Brother: Late & Live, and later uninvited from the Big Brother final.

The reality star told the podcast she felt hurt by ITV’s decision to remove her from the standard Big Brother post-housemate procedure.

Trish said: “I already had paranoid thoughts about what housemates were saying. And then not getting the platform to speak like other people got to speak. That being taken away was hurtful. And then receiving a lot of hate.”

The mother-of-one explained her greatest disappointment: how the comments would affect her family.

The Congo-born TV personality said: “I kept saying to the welfare team: ‘My brother is going to see this.’ I have a trans brother and I’ve been one of his biggest supporters. That hurt the most.”

The online trolling also included death threats which took a toll which caused the Luton resident to panic. She said: “And then there were the death threats I received. People telling me: ‘You should die’, people talking about my child.”

The mother-of-one spoke out against CBB housemate Gary, 59, who has a conviction for assaulting his ex wife in 2007 and was reportedly involved in a drug stint in 2009.

Trish doubled down on this opinion, telling Will on his podcast: “If I can’t attend late and live any other thing because of past comments, but then there’s someone who has a history of that and seems to kind of carry on discriminating, why is he [Gary] allowed in the house?”

Trish is now determined to put past mistakes behind her and to remain vocal, telling Will: ‘I want people to see the reality of this, my emotions. I don’t want to hide away.”

She regularly posts travel pictures on Instagram to her 57k followers and supports an array of charities centred around social issues.
