Meteorologist Laura Tobin, 42, warned fans of her absence as she celebrated her upcoming "lie-ins" on her page on X.

The weather presenter posted a short video of a wave hitting a beach and the caption: "I’m on leave from @GMB for the next week enjoying the Easter holiday with family and friends - hopefully doing this," posting emojis of a pan of food, wine glasses and a sleepy face.

She then told of her planned social media break and added: "I’ll probably be quieter on here than normal & won’t be posting my daily weather."

SNOOZE YOU LOSE

Earlier this year, Laura missed her GMB weather slot after over-sleeping.

After a boozy night at the 2022 Ultimate News Quiz, where her team of ITV colleagues scooped the trophy, she passed out fully clothed on her hotel bed and did not set an alarm.

Opening up on the mishap, Laura told the Monday Mile podcast: “We won, drank loads, I woke up. I had my phone on silent.

“My boss was trying to phone my phone.

“In the end they eventually got through to the taxi driver who went inside and asked them to call up to me.

“I answered the phone with a swear word.

“I turned up at GMB at half past six. I had to as I had the trophy.”

Laura said newsreader Charlotte Hawkins, 48, had already covered her first weather cast.
