BBC BREAKFAST fans were practically left shocked as Naga Munchety took a 'nasty' swipe at her co-host.

But tension in the Salford studio was at a fever pitch as Carol Kirkwood, 61, came onto the air waves.

The longtime breakfast weather presenter immediately followed Mike Bushell's sports bulletin as she stood at her usual green screen.

Although the weather prospects looked rather gloomy, he couldn't help but comment on Carol's sunny outfit as he thought it was in keeping with the golf theme.

He gushed: "If only it was as sunny as Carol and her Azalea like top, which is a tribute to The Masters I’m sure."

This was then Naga, 49, couldn't help but chime in with her own sarcastic 'dig' at her BBC Breakfast colleague.

She jibbed: "Absolutely, because Augusta is famous for it’s Azalea’s. Well done Carol, look at you tying in with the theme.

"I know you thought about that really carefully about that last night when you picked your outfit out."

This is when Carol decided to give a positive message for Mike, but not for either Naga or Charlie.

She stated: "I have one message for Mike," as she made a heart shape gesture with her hands.

Analysing Carol's hand actions, Naga couldn't help but comment: "Do you know what Charlie, you and I have never got that."

But then Carol retorted: "And what do you think the chances are of you ever getting it Naga."

As the studio erupted in banterous laughter as they tried to deflect the situation, Naga tried to quickly move the programme on.

"Can you feel the love? Crack on Carol, crack on!", she spat back.

Later after her weather report, Carol made a similar gesture with her hands as she tried to shower the presenters with love after the banter.

"Naga and Charlie of course it’s a big *heart gesture* to you too."

But Naga coldly replied: “Too little too late Carol.”

Fans couldn't help but notice the frosty atmosphere in the studio as they thought Carol and Naga might be engulfed in a secret feud.

One viewer noted: "Naga and Carol really do hate each other."

A second commented: "Here we go again with nasty aggressive style, @naga munchetty."

"BBCbreakfast Have they found one of Frankie Howard's joke books?", asked a third fan.

Whilst a fourth said: "Naga and Carol have had a bit of a falling out this morning."

They added: "You can cut the atmosphere with a knife."
