Perrie Edwards had a very unexpected phone call with Cheryl's rarley seen son Bear.

The Little Mix star launched her solo career on Friday, two years after Little Mix announced an indefinite hiatus. She appeared on BBC Radio 1, where she took part in a game with host Greg James. He had her phone up celebrities in her contacts to try and guess if they were sitting down or standing up when they answered.

However, the pair had a shock when they called Cheryl. Greg asked Perrie: "Would it be a normal thing for her to receive a call from you?," as the singer replied: "Yes, I would say a few years ago I probably rang her every five seconds in my life for advice and just to help me with life in general." Perrie then guessed Cheryl would be sitting down when she picked up the call, while Greg predicted she would be standing up.

They then called the Girls Aloud star but were surprised when seven-year-old Bear said hello. Perrie gasped as she replied: "Hello?" He asked: "Who is this?," as Perrie questioned: "Is this Bear?" He replied: "Yeah," and Perrie continued: "Bear, are you sitting down or are you standing up?" The little boy replied: "I am sitting down."

Perrie cheered out: "Yes, come on Bear!" Greg added: "Bear, hi. This is Greg James, you are on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show." Mum Cheryl suddenly appeared in the background as she quipped: "On the radio?" Greg told her: "It is a surprise for all of us but it is very nice to talk to you."

Perrie said: "Oh Cheryl, hi." Cheryl could be heard saying: "They're on the radio," as Bear asked: "I am on the radio?" The former X Factor judge told Greg: "This is a bit random, how are you?" He replied: "I am alright, I am here with Perrie who says you chat all the time." The presenter then apologised for not saying hello to her when bumping into Girls Aloud in a lift.

Little Mix's Perrie added: "Thank you for answering, I was so worried I was going to do this game and no one was going to answer." Cheryl told her: "Bear is saying 'this is my first time on radio now everybody knows me'." Bear then wished Perrie good luck for her new music.

Cheryl, who is gearing up for her Girls Aloud reunion tour, welcomed Bear in March 2017 with One Direction's Liam Payne. The stars have been co-parenting their son following their split, as they both decided to keep Bear out of the public eye. Last year mum Cheryl, 40, revealed Bear finally found out his parents are famous. Cheryl admitted that Bear finds it 'pretty cool' that his folks are celebrities. Speaking to British Vogue Cheryl insisted that she's determined for her son to have a 'normal childhood'.

The former couple have decided to not share photos of Bear's face, however earlier this year Liam sent fans into a frenzy when he gave a rare update on his son. He shared a snap of Bear wearing a yellow coat, looking at a huge poster of the singer. He captioned the sweet photo: "I want to be on a billboard one day daddy." Fans couldn't believe how grown up Bear is as one said: "HOW IS HE SO BIG?" Another added: "He's so big, it seems like he was born yesterday."
