A fake TikTok dentist has allegedly left people with severe gum and teeth issues due to her scam veneer business which saw her arrested.
Monica Davis, from Illinois, registered the business The Veneer Experts in July 2023, which is now under investigation by police. Davis also offered braces, which left Monica Bailey and her 15-year-old daughter terrified of the dentist.
Davis marketed her sham on TikTok as “changing lives one smile at a time.” The Veneer Experts had also been operating at a Las Vegas strip mall, where Davis was found to be illegally practicing dentistry without a license.
Court documents show Davis was released from police custody in Nevada on Jan. 31 and nine days later gave Bailey her braces. Bailey said: "It's hard. It is. I'm just hoping that we can have a positive outcome." Bailey added that Davis "cleaned my teeth and started, you know, putting the glue on and putting the brackets on for the braces and I thought what she was doing was how it's supposed to be done.”

"One of the numbers was disconnected. The other one, nobody would answer," Bailey said. She said she “couldn’t believe” it when she saw Davis’ mugshot.
One tattoo artists, Ralph Jones had veneers put in for £1,000 that started to rot and fall out. Jones said: “They just started decaying and falling out, and over the course of the years, it just started making my appearance look pretty bad. I woke up to a chipped tooth," he said. "Like there was a piece of it chipped."
Patients have been left with horrific treatment (Youtube/CBSChicago)CBS 2 reported it could not locate Davis’ name on the registration site for state dentists, with all dentists needing a license in Illinois. "A license ensures that the person has had a high level of quality of education and training," said Lindsay Wagahoff, governmental relations director at Illinois State Dental Society.
"Sometimes, there are cease and desist letters that are sent, and then obviously there's a process after that in the court system," she said.

Dr. Laura Zalay, a credited dentist, told CBS 2 that she was very concerned for Davis’ patients. "I mean, the gum tissue is what I'm very concerned about, because if you can't brush under those teeth, you're not going to have teeth there much longer. They look like real braces, but they don't connect to anything in the back and so there's no way to move the teeth.
The Veneer Experts were asked to leave their office in Schaumburg with one receptionist saying they had received several calls from disgruntled customers.
Davis told CBS 2 she did not have anything to say about her business or the allegations against her in Illinois or Nevada. Davis will appear in court in Las Vegas court date is in May. CBS 2 heard she may have to appear in front of a judge in Illinois soon.
