VALORANT’S next big esports tournament in Europe is just around the corner, kicking off the 2024 Valorant Champions Tour.
The first global event for the season is the VCT Masters Madrid 2024, which begins in the Spanish capital on March 14, 2024.
Here are all the details about the upcoming Valorant event, including the prize pool, participating teams, schedule, where and how to watch, and more.
VCT Masters Madrid 2024 prize money
The eight teams that have qualified for VCT Masters Madrid 2024 will be vying for a share of the $500,000 (about £390,700) total prize pool.
The prize money will be split among all participating teams based on their final placement, with the winning team grabbing a $250,000 prize.

The winners also earn 3 VCT points, which contribute towards their qualification for the Champions event at the end of the season.
VCT Masters Madrid 2024 teams
VCT Masters Madrid 2024 will pit the eight teams that qualified from regional VCT 2024 Kickoff events.
Two teams from each regional league form the lineup for this tournament.
We have Sentinels and LOUD from the Americas, and Karmine Corp and Team Heretics from Europe and the Middle East.
Gen.G Esports and Paper Rex qualified from the Pacific region, with China as a region in its own right sending EDward Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 venue
VCT Masters Madrid 2024 is an in-person event with a live audience, and all matches will take place at the 12,000-seat Madrid Arena.
VCT Masters Madrid 2024 format
The tournament will be held in two phases. The first one, called the Swiss Stage, will feature a Swiss-system tournament.
Every team will play a set of matches, and the top four teams will progress to the next phase.
In the Swiss format, each team’s next opponent is determined by the result of the previous matches.

This is unlike round-robin tournaments, where each team plays against every other team, and group formats where the fixtures are predetermined.
The top four teams will then go through a direct elimination Playoffs Stage, which will conclude in the Grand Final on March 24, 2024.
VCT Masters Madrid 2024 schedule
The schedule and match-ups for Round 1 of the Swiss Stage have been announced, and they are as follows:
Day 1 - March 14, 2024
- Karmine Corp vs FunPlus Phoenix - 2pm UK Time / 7am PT
- Gen.G Esports vs LOUD - 5pm UK Time / 10am PT
Day 2 - March 15, 2024
- EDward Gaming vs Paper Rex - 2pm UK Time / 7am PT
- Sentinels vs Team Heretics - 5pm UK Time / 10am PT
Round 2 will take place on March 16-17, 2024, and the final Round 3 of the Swiss Stage will be on March 18, 2024.
Just like during the first two days, all matches start either at 2pm UK Time / 7am PT or 5pm UK Time / 10am PT.
The Playoffs will take place from March 21 to March 24, 2024.

The VCT Masters Madrid 2024 will be broadcast live, so Valorant fans around the world will be able to watch all the matches as they happen.
Fans can watch the tournament via the official Valorant Twitch channel and the Valorant Champions Tour YouTube channel.
