MORNING Live star Gethin Jones has admitted he felt "embarrassed" about how angry he got at co-star Dr Ranj Singh during an appearance on a special celebrity episode of Bridge Of Lies.

The 46-year-old, who revealed he 'buckled under pressure', was captain of the BBC talk show team that participated in the Ross Kemp-fronted quiz show.

The stars went on Bridge Of Lies for a chance to win money for charity in an episode that will be airing later this year.

On Tuesday's (March 12) episode of Moning Live, host Ross appeared as a guest, which allowed the show to air a clip to promote its upcoming edition.

Before the snippet was shown, Gethin said: "(It's) actually properly terrifying when you are playing the game.

"It’s fair to say one of us - one of the team - may have buckled under the pressure."

The screen then switched to a small clip of the forthcoming episode, in which an unsettled Dr Ranj stood on the show's "bridge" as he attempted to determine which statements were untrue.

At that moment in the game, the team had £3,150 in their prize pot and needed him to get across so they didn't lose the money, but unfortunately, the doctor admitted he couldn't remember a medical term.

When he chose the wrong statement,  his team looked visibly disappointed as they threw their hands in the air.

After the clip played, the camera cut back to the studio, where Helen Skelton and Gethin were sitting with Ross on a Zoom video call.

The Welsh presenter admitted: "I haven’t seen that. I’m a bit embarrassed as to how angry I am with Ranj about that."

His co-host confirmed that this was the case after filming as she said:  "He was so angry! It’s only a game.”

"I'm competitive," Gethin admitted before apologising to Dr Ranj.

He said: "Sorry, Ranj - we’re a team at the end of the day."

Ross and Helen appeared to find his reaction hugely entertaining.

However, the 59-year-old Bridge Of Lies host was having technical issues as he struggled to connect to the show.

Viewers watched as he played with his settings and asked if Gethin and Helen could hear him, as he clearly couldn't hear the studio.

The presenters gave him a few moments to deal with the problem before he finally joined them for a chat.

Which led Helen to teasing: "He can navigate a prison in Ecuador, but he can't get around Zoom!"

Morning Live was recently thrown into chaos on a separate episode after a blackout left the hosts wondering if they would make it to air.

During Friday's BBC Breakfast, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt checked in with the Morning Live hosts to see what was coming up on their show.

The camera switched over to Gethin Jones and Sara Cox in the Manchester studio, where the Welshman revealed they'd had a power cut.

Morning Live is on BBC One weekdays at 9.30am.
