Huge Nineties pop star 'comes out of retirement' to headline UK festival

RONAN Keating is headlining a UK festival as part of a star studded line-up including Peter Andre.

The 47-year-old will take to the stage at the It's The Nineties Baby festival later this summer.

Ronan shared on Instagram: "I’m excited to announce that I will be back headlining @itsthenineteesbaby festival taking place at Town Moor, Newcastle on Sunday 4th August ????????????."

This is his first tour since his son Jack claimed the Boyzone legend had "retired" while during a chat with Michael Owen's daughter Gemma on Love Island.

Ronan later denied it while on The One Show.

Speaking about the conversation, Ronan said on the BBC programme: "He did drop the line that I was retired, that I was shocked about!

"I nearly fell off me chair! What? I'm doing The One Show next week, I'm in York tonight!"

He added: "I'm definitely not retired!"

Ronan will perform on the main stage at the festival alongside the likes of Peter Andre, Blue, Atomic Kitten, Blazin' Squad and Five.

Fans are over the moon with the news.

One said in the comments section: "Literally bring back the early 2000 era."

Another added: "???????????????? what a show!!! Brilliant !!!!!Love the 90's!!!!❤️."

"Looking forward to this one ????????????," a third chimed in.

Back in August Ronan geared up for his tour just weeks after the tragic death of his brother.

Ronan's brother was killed in a car crash in Balllymiles, Co Mayo in July 2023.

He later performed three dates in Asia.

The star is later performing another tour starting in May this year.

Ronan shot to fame in the 90s as part of pop group Boyzone.

He was in the band alongside Keith Duffy, Michael Graham, Shane Lynch and Stephen Gately.

The group were together between 1993 and 2000, and reunited in 2007 until 2019.
