MOLLIE King was joined by a 'grumpy' Greg James on her Comic Relief Pedal Power challenge today after revealing her huge fundraising total.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Mollie, 36, is currently cycling 500km from London all the way to her late father's hometown of Hull, in order to raise money for the charity.

Her big expedition kicked off on 11th March, with her station colleague Greg James, 38, vowing to venture out "half naked" if listeners helped Mollie reached the £400,000 mark.

With the milestone met this morning, a regretful Greg made the journey up north via train before hopping on a scooter to join his pal.

Ensuring to post the proof to his Instagram Story, the Lewisham-native wrote in his caption, "Help is on the way dear! See you soon @mollieking."

But, he appeared to be wearing a high-vis jacket and black trousers as they stopped off at the Morning Live studios in Manchester.

Mollie confessed on the show, "I felt like I hit a brick wall yesterday. It was so hilly and I felt like, 'I don't know if I can do this.'

"There were times where I was cycling up hills and I could feel tears just beginning in my eyes and I thought, 'No, Mollie, come on, you can do this.'

"But that voice of doubt was really loud yesterday so it was emotional."

The former Saturdays singer surprisingly added that, just six weeks ago, she'd never cycled on a road before.

Greg soon made his way into the studio, joking, "I hate these scooters. This is Matt Edmondson's scooter. I always take the mickey out of him for this! Anything for Morning Live, anything for Mollie King."

The Up songstress previously said she’d been inspired to keep pedalling thanks to her listeners and her dad Stephen – who passed away in November 2022 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun as she finished the first 20km stretch, Mollie recently opened up about how her England cricketer fiancé Stuart Broad, 37, had been keeping her spirits up ahead of the mammoth challenge.

Mollie said: “I have been so incredibly nervous in the days leading up to it, I’ve had a bit of a foggy head.

“My partner Stuart was like, ‘It’s cool, it’s pre match nerves.' He has been really encouraging and really supportive.”

Stuart was at the start line at Broadcasting House in London to wave off Mollie, along with their baby daughter Arabella.

Mollie’s mum’s Susan and her sister were also there to support her.

Giving an update on her progress, Mollie added: “We started the challenge which feels crazy, we are 20k in now.

“If you had told me six weeks ago we would be casually saying we’re 20k in now, I would never have believed you.

“Even this bit feels like an accomplishment.

“I had the most incredible and emotional send off. I had my daughter Arabella there, I had my partner Stuart and my mum and my sister and it was exactly what I needed for that boost of energy.

“That boost of warmth to push me through.

She added: “It’s been good to get stuck in and get to our first pit stop.

“We have tackled our first hill as well which was quite intimidating but even that sense of achievement of making it to the top of that first hill felt like, you’ve done one so you can tackle more of them.

“I am trying to stay positive at this point and take it small bit by small bit.”
