Josie Gibson has gone from strength to strength since hitting screens and now lives in a faraway world from her humble beginnings.
The This Morning star has now been named as the new face of supermarket Iceland in a lucrative deal for the Big Brother winner turned TV presenter. Bristolian Josie has enjoyed a steady career rise since winning the reality show back in 2010.
She netted £100,000 when she won the show, making more dosh with her own self-named perfume and a job as the presenter of Channel 5's OK! TV the same year. The star went onto appear in her own three-part reality series There's Something About Josie and she became a reporter for Big Brother's Big On The Side.
Her list of TV appearances also include Celebrity Wedding Planner, Let's Do Lunch With Gino & Mel, The Wright Stuff, Celebrity Juice and Loose Women. And now, the 39-year-old is said to be worth a cool £800,000.
Josie's career really soared when she joined ITV daytime show This Morning. First working as a competition announcer in 2019, she became a fill-in presenter from November 2021, proving popular with viewers. Josie is also said to have bagged six figures to appear on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last year, finishing in fourth place.
Davina McCall still talks to three Big Brother stars and felt bad for Jade GoodyThe star lives in Bristol with her five-year-old son Reggie-James. She put her four-bedroom home, described by estate agents as an executive style detached house, up for sale late last year for £700,000. The luxury pad had a garden hot tub and Ibizan and Nordic inspired decor inside.
Josie, who has three sisters and three brothers, lost her father when she was just 10 years old when he was injured in a fight. Her mum Mandy told how the family was raised in traditional Traveller style with frequent caravan trips, decamping for entire summers where they'd have no electricity, gas or running water for months.
"We’ve always had horses, traps and carriages," she told the Daily Mail. "We are simple people and we live a simple way of life. It’s very different to the life she leads now but I’m glad that she had the opportunity to live life in the caravan when she was a child."
The star will appear on primetime TV adverts with Iceland from today, with Summer and Christmas specials also planned. While the amount she'll earn hasn't been revealed, the chain's long-running contract with Kerry Katona in the early '00s was said to be worth £250,000. "With her famous warmth and positivity, Josie is the perfect person to encapsulate the friendly welcome all our customers receive at Iceland and we’re delighted to have her onboard," said executive chairman Richard Walker.
As well as securing lucrative deals, Josie sparked relationship rumours this week when she was pictured holding hands with TV presenter Stephen Mulhern. "I'm in love with Stephen Mulhern," she later told Mail Online. "There you go. But story of my life, I don't think he loves me."
