Fans were devastated when 46-year-old Gethin revealed that viewers would no longer be able to get their morning fix with the show's group of hosts after the BBC made the decision to take it off air.

Morning Live usually airs between 9:30am and 10:45am each weekday but will be replaced by editions of Crimewatch Live for the next "few weeks".

Issuing the viewers a message, Gethin urged on their loyal fans to get in touch if they had any "burning questions" with it being their "last chance" to do so.

He said: "It’s the last Morning Live unfortunately, so if you have any burning questions for our experts, we are still gonna be with you, this is your last chance to get them in.”

Crimewatch Live will accompany most of its timeslot with another show entitled Criminal Incident also airing from 10:15am.

Whilst most of the show's hosts will get a well-deserved break, two of the Morning Live hosts won't be so lucky.

Both Michelle Ackerley and Rav Wilding will lead the 'weeks-long' coverage of Crimewatch Live instead of their usual roles on Morning Live.

They will both be forced to relocate from Manchester to Wales where they will also be joined by reporter John Paul Davies on the scene.

Morning Live underwent a huge revamp at the start of the year that saw michelle brought onto the show as a regualr co-host.

She joined alongside Helen Skelton to become Gethin's right-hand women.

As well as the leading trio, Sara Cox, Kimberley Walsh and Kym Marsh also regularly frequent the show as hosts as well as Rav.

It comes just a week after Kimberley confirmed that she would be stepping down for a while ahead of the Girls Aloud reunion tour.

The singer, 42, announced on her Instagram she will be stepping back from the show with a collection of photos from her time on hosting duties.

Among the pictures, Kimberley is seen in a denim co-ord outfit comprised of a pair of jeans and a waistcoat over a white shirt.

“Last @bbcmorninglive for a little while as I have some business to attend to,” she wrote, alongside a string of emojis including a microphone, glitterball, music note and dancers.

“What a fab series so far and always love sharing the studio with so many incredible women (and Geth),” she added. “Happy International Women’s Day.”
