Netflix will release a series of brand new sport documentaries including one that relives the incredible career of Jose Mourinho.

The American streaming service have announced a series of new projects, one of which follows the former Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham boss. That series is expected to be released at some point in 2025.

It will take a deep dive into his career and the successes that he has enjoyed with his various clubs. Mourinho is currently out of work following his sacking by Italian giants Roma.

That is not the only football-related series earmarked for Netflix ’s broadcasting calendar. A documentary titled The Final: Attack on Wembley is due to be released in May this year. It will take a deep look at the chaos that marred the delayed Euro 2020 final between England and Italy at Wembley Stadium.

It will include ‘first-hand testimony and visceral user-generated-content’ in order to tell a detailed account of the build-up to the final and what allowed the scenes to turn so ugly. While that is set to get the tongues wagging, the football-related programming does not end there.

Netflix have also announced Untold UK. The series is due to take a look at some of the biggest footballing stories from world football - giving an audience a glimpse into the real tale that fans may not have already known.

Away from football, a host of other sports will also be broadcast. A docuseries following the fortunes of tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has been pencilled in for the 2024 campaign and will be released next year.

“These new additions speak to our commitment to showcasing the drama of sport - to bring our members closer to their favourite personalities, leagues, matches, races and moments that have made sporting history. We’re proud that these incredible athletes and organisations continue to trust us to tell their stories in the most authentic way.”
