U2 guitarist Adam Clayton impressed fans of Gardeners' World when his Dublin garden was featured on the programme this week.

The 64-year-old star showed off his 'magical' garden and revealed it took 30 years of work to get the garden to how it looks today. Not only does he have a tiny river going through the area, but he also planted more than 4,000 trees and added islands within the water to achieve a relaxing atmosphere.

There are endless gorgeous flowers and many types of species, which makes the garden look more natural. Discussing his lovely garden, he said: "I think this is an adolescent garden in reality. I've put 30 years into planting and shaping it, and I can just see what it's going to be. I might not be around for it, but I can see where it's headed."

He even explained how he started the garden. Speaking to the host, he said: "The very beginning was, for me, I went to a boarding school at the age of 13 which is literally over the other field, and I used to look over the wall and come over here in the early days of smokes and cigarettes and there was this lovely little river that ran through it.

"Flash forward to, we're looking for somewhere to record The Joshua Tree, and our management pick this house and I'm going 'oh my goodness, this is one step over from my boarding school, how weird to come back here. At the end of the recording, the owner said 'Look, if any of the band want to buy the house, I'd be up to taking the cost of the rental off the house'."

The band have been pumping out music since 1980 with hits including With Or Without You, Beautiful Day, and Sweetest Thing.
