Fabio Carvalho has opened up about his Liverpool future, with manager Jurgen Klopp set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022, but struggled to make much of an impact and has spent this season out on loan. After barely featuring for RB Leipzig in the first half of the campaign, Carvalho joined Hull and is enjoying much more success in the Championship.

He has scored four goals in 11 games for Liam Rosenior's side, who are just three points off the play-offs, and when asked about his future Carvalho told Portuguese outlet A Bola : "Yes! I'm going back [to Liverpool] in pre-season."

The 21-year-old also opened up about working with Klopp, admitting the German "didn't have the greatest confidence" in him. He added: "It was good. He [Klopp] helped me. But when I arrived at the club, we were in a very difficult period, on and off the field.

"There were problems with the team and he needed to turn to the players he trusted most. I had just arrived and he didn't have the greatest confidence in me, but he always helped me a lot and pointed out what I needed to do better and what I shouldn't do.

"But we had players there with a lot of experience, who were playing very well, even though the team was not at its best. I was there to learn and continue training."

It comes after Carvalho revealed ahead of his loan stint at RB Leipzig that he and Klopp "don't really speak". Speaking to German media, he said: "I don't really speak to him [Klopp], to be fair. He didn't really give me any advice.

"I just had to learn as I go, and I feel that is better for me to mature anyway. I feel like the reason it hasn't worked at Liverpool is because of the position I have been playing on the left, which is not really my position.

"I was told I'd come in and play as a 10, but we don't really play with a 10. It's more I'm able to get on the inside, I'm able to turn and go forward. So I'd probably say that's the reason it hasn't worked out."
