Louis Theroux has revealed he has got his eyebrows tattooed on as he gave a health update.
The documentary maker, 53, shared a series of snaps as he shared he'd undergone microblading three months after shaving his eyebrows off. He previously shared his shock at the fact the hair had been falling out due to alopecia back in 2022. Louis has since had the treatment, which involves having his eyebrows semi-permanently tattooed.
The TV star shared: "I realise there are much bigger things to worry about in the world but… a while ago I shared that my eyebrows had basically disappeared due to alopecia...I received a lot of nice messages, some suggesting I try “microblading”, a form of temporary tattoo. So that’s what I did! It took two sessions of a couple of hours...
"I’m happy to have my old face back. The new brows are neater and more shapely than my “real” ones were. But there are a couple of wisps of my remaining hair in there which help make them look more natural." Louis admitted some of the alopecia is "weird and depressing" so is yet to share more photos.
He added: "Meanwhile more gaps - or “lesions” to use the technical term - have appeared on my scalp. I have photos of those which I may share at some point or I may not - they are a bit weird and depressing to look at tbh...Life goes on. I am happy and healthy in every other way and I feel very grateful."
Five things cameras didn't show at Joshua vs Franklin, including Bellew scuffleBack in December, Louis decided to shave off his eyebrows as he shared a slightly shocking video of himself with an electric razor. The star casually rolled the razor over his cheeks, but then moved the device across the top of his face, rubbing it above his eyes and over his eyebrows and forehead. He then continued to shave around the lowed half of his face, while turning to show how clean and hair free his entire face had become.
Uploading the images and video online, Louis wrote: “Can you tell what’s different? I’ve shaved off my eyebrows! I’m also thinking about getting micro blading soon. In the meanwhile I figure no eyebrows is better than patchy eyebrows. Do you agree?” Bear Grylls responded, writing: “We are much more than just our silly eyebrows… you’re a true champ with a wonderful heart."
Louis previously shared his surprise at the fact he was beginning to lose his eyebrows. He wrote: “Oh jeez it looks like the alopecia has migrated up to my eyebrow. I realise you aren’t all awaiting every update on its progress but I want people to acclimatise to the new partially depilated me and not freak everyone out by suddenly appearing in public like a half-plucked elephant bird with no forewarning. So this is where we’re at.” He explained that he had been advised to start taking vitamin d supplements - as well as the hair growth encouraging vitamin biotin.
