FLEUR DE MER is fancied to open her account on turf by beating six rivals for the Sky Sports Racing 415 Handicap (6.50) at Doncaster on Thursday evening.

The Hugo Palmer-saddled daughter of Dark Angel, a two-time winner on the all-weather, has yet to get her head in front on grass - but that could be about to change.

Twelve days ago, my selection went off at 14-1 for a mile-and-a-half handicap on soft ground at Thirsk, being stopped in her run a furlong out before running on to take second, beaten two and a quarter lengths at the line, to Two Brothers.

Fleur De Mer would certainly have got closer to the winner but for meeting trouble in running, and a 1lb nudge up the weights is neither here nor there.

Palmer has booked Tom Marquand to do the steering on Town Moor and, under the same conditions, Fleur De Mer is confidently expected to go one better.
