Stormy Daniels has revealed how being at the centre of the hush money trial that brought down Donald Trump bizarrely led to a marriage proposal - and legions of fans.
The adult actress, 50, who gave evidence in court in New York ahead of Trump’s guilty verdict has been the victim of trolls, death threats and bullying for speaking up.
She even had to wear a bulletproof vest to court in fear of assassination attempts from Trump supporters. But in an exclusive interview she told the Mirror how her time on the stand has also landed her thousands of fans - one of whom sent her a message online saying: “Love you, Goddess, marry me.”
Stormy is already happily married to her fourth husband, adult actor, director and cinematographer Barrett Blade. The former President of the United States, now 77, was found guilty on 34 charges of forging business documents to cover up his affair with Stormy ahead of the 2016 election.
Speaking for the first time since White House hopeful Trump was found guilty, the former adult actress told us: “I think he should be sentenced to jail and some community service working for the less fortunate, or being the volunteer punching bag at a women's shelter.”
Donald Trump's NYE party - missing kids, worrying words and famous guestsAt the heart of Trump’s downfall was a $130,000 (£102,000) payment made to Stormy by Trump’s then-lawyer, Michael Cohen. It was to ensure she remained silent in the days leading up to the 2016 US election about the alleged sex she had with the businessman at a celebrity golf tournament ten years earlier.
The pair had sex after a dinner at a golf club in Lake Tahoe in 2006 and Stormy was later paid $130,000 not to speak about their night together. But when Trump and his former aide Michael Cohen tried to conceal the payment as a business expense, Stormy found herself at the centre of the most controversial criminal trial in US history.
Following the verdict, Stormy said "Everyone in the world had an opinion on what was happening and that meant everyone had an opinion on me. But I divide opinion, people seem to love me or hate me.
"Like if I open my Twitter right now and read it, it'd be like, 'you're the hottest woman ever', 'You're my hero', 'You saved the world'... Then 'whore', 'set yourself on fire ' 'your daughter should be euthanised', 'I know where you live.'
"The most horrific ones would talk about breaking into my house and raping all of my family in front of me before they slit my throat. And then the very next one would be, 'Love you, Goddess, marry me.' It is nonstop.”
Stormy’s fans have been out in force on Twitter since she gave her first interview since the trial to the Mirror. One responded to her demand that Trump go to jail saying: “Totally agree. Who ever thought a porn star would save the modern world? But she has! What a hero!”
Yet the trolls were also still bombarding her, calling her “evil”, “a fraud” and labelling her with vile sexual slurs. But Stormy has no regrets.
"You always feel like you're the bad guy, even when you're not just being up on that standard. Being in court was so intimidating with the jurors looking at you, but I'm glad that the stuff came out in court that wanted to come out and prove, like I said, I've been telling the truth the entire time. It's it's not over for me. It's never going to be over for me. Trump may be guilty, but I still have to live with the legacy."
