BOLTON is the mouldiest place to live in Britain, a study has found.
Its residents search the internet for mildew solutions more often than people in any other part of the country.

Researchers found one-in-ten people from the Lancashire town — birthplace of comedian Peter Kay, DJs Vernon Kay and Sara Cox, and boxer Amir Khan — googled “mould problems” in the past year.
Just 93 miles away in Derby, barely one per cent of the population did the same, a study for thermal imaging firm Tester discovered.
A spokesman for Tester said: “Derby is the UK’s least mouldy city.”

Bolton resident Ian Platt - a 49-year-old taxi driver - said he wasn’t surprised that his home town was top.
He said: “I’ve lived in eight rented homes in Bolton since I was 20, and all of them have had problems with mould, especially the bathrooms and kitchens.
“I bought my own place three years ago, and as soon as I see any mould I deal with it immediately as I know how fast it can spread.”
He said he even got a builder in to check the vents in the house and to ensure all the pipes were properly insulated, adding: “I’ve had mould before and I don’t want to see it again.”
Left alone, condensation can create mould and mildew which is both a pain to get rid of and can cause havoc with your health including worsening asthma, eczema and allergies.
