Manager Gareth Southgate handed full debuts to Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and Chelsea ace Cole Palmer in the hopes of sprucing up the attack.

However, as England hunted for a first win of 2024, the team put out managed just five shots at goal in a drab display.

At the blow of the half-time whistle, fans took to social media to vent their displeasure at the football being played.

England eventually took the lead through a Palmer spot-kick after Ezri Konsa was fouled at a corner in the penalty area.

Playing in midfield, Trent Alexander-Arnold then added a second in the 85th minute with a crisp volley across goal into the far corner before Harry Kane bundled home a third after coming off the bench.

Southgate named a 33-player provisional squad for games against Bosnia and Iceland.

He will have to cut the numbers down to 26 for the tournament proper.
