The final ended in an 18-14 win for Kyren Wilson over Jak Jones after a lengthy battle between the pair under the harsh lights of the crucible.

And heading into the final session live on BBC, Jones had an uphill battle as he was trailing by five frames to Wilson with the scores at 15-10.

Before the evening session got underway Hendry was asked to use his experience to weigh in on how Jones may be feeling with such a tough task ahead of him.

BBC Sport co-host and former world champion Shaun Murphy asked Henry: "If you're sat in Jak Jones' chair tonight, what are you saying to him?"

Hendry brilliantly replied: "To be honest I'm usually more in Kyren's position - being five frames ahead!"

His confident response got a big laugh out of the audience inside the Crucible theatre and prompted Murphy to mimic the action of dropping a microphone.

Murphy didn't stop there either as he teased Hendry by saying: "It's always about you isn't it?"

Fans loved the quick wit from Hendry and took to social media to back him up in his outrageous flex.
