If your finances won’t stretch to a premium smartphone then Motorola might have the answer. The famous tech firm has just launched a budget blower called the Moto e14 and despite its ludicrously low price of just £69.99 it even gets a feature the iPhone 15 can’t match.

This low-cost call maker includes a large 6.56" ultra-wide display with a 90Hz refresh rate that makes scrolling through content and whizzing around apps feel silky smooth and stutter-free.

Although Apple’s top-notch iPhone 15 Pro gets a better 120Hz display, the standard iPhone 15 still features a standard 60Hz panel. That means the Moto e14 can brag it does one thing better than Apple.

Of course, it can’t beat the iPhone when it comes to things such as Face ID unlocking, wireless MagSafe charging, impressive A15 chip and a glass metal design but the e14 still offers plenty of surprising upgrades for the price.

There’s a High Brightness mode which boost the display when using it in the summer sunshine and when heading to bed a Night Light option reduces eye strain when viewing content in dimmer light conditions.

There’s a Dolby Atmos compatible speaker, a massive 5000mAh battery which Motorola says can be fast charged when the power runs flat.

Although it’s not fully waterproof (don't drop it in the pool on holiday) it can survive spills and being used in the usual summer downpours.

It’s even got Corning Gorilla Glass over the screen to protect the display from things from such as scratches and cracks.

On the rear case is a single camera that’s powered by AI for improved images.

Finally, you’ll find an octa-core processor under its shell which is unlikely to provide flagship performance but should be capable enough to surf the web and send a few emails.

If any of that sounds at all enticing, the moto e14 will be available soon in three colours: Graphite Gray, Pastel Green, and Pastel Purple.

Stores including Currys, JLP, O2, GiffGaff, Tesco, Amazon and. Argos will be stocking it.
