Germany ’s preparations for the Euros have been rocked after two stars almost came to blows on the training ground just FOUR days ahead of the opening game.

Julian Nagelsmann's men will take on Scotland in the inaugural game of their home tournament. The game will take place at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena - kick-off scheduled for 8pm BST.

While there is pressure on Germany to lift the trophy in fribt if their own fans, tension appears to be rising within the camp. According to Bild, former Chelsea and current Real Madrid star Antonio Rudiger was involved in a training ground ‘altercation’ with team-mate Niclas Fullkrug.

It is reported that the pair were opponents in a crossing drill during a public training session. After a particularly tough tackle from Rudiger, the Dortmund striker was left on the ground cursing the defender.

He appealed to coaches to blow the whistle and then moved towards Rudiger. It is then claimed that the pair pushed each other, almost came to blows and were pulled apart by assistant coach Sandro Wagner. The atmosphere then continued after a drinks break. Rudiger, 31, sarcastically applauded his opponent.

Wagner was then tasked with calming the defender down, while Rudiger then left the team training for a run with a fitness coach. But there doesn't appear to be any lingering tension, with the pair reaching out to each other on social media.

Fullkrug, who is close with Rudiger, shared an image of the pair on Instagram with the caption "jumping into Euro week," to which Rudiger replied "Lüüüüückkkkkkkkeeeee" alongside a heart emoji. It is not the first time that the pair have faced off over the past few weeks.

Fullkrug and Rudiger both played in the Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. The Spanish side ran out 2-0 winners at Wembley - claiming their 15th European title in the process.

Speaking ahead of his side’s opening Euros game against Scotland, Fullkrug said: "We learnt some lessons from the Greece game which will be useful against Scotland. I’m interested to see how the coaches will prepare us for the game.

"I watched a Scotland match and they played differently to how I expected. They press very high. Against us, there’ll be phases where they’ll sit deeper.

"They try to get into shooting situations as quickly as possible, so it’ll be important that we counter that and not let them show their dynamism. We’ll prepare intensively this week. It’s not just about preparing for the opponent, but also keeping our energy levels up and improving ourselves."

Following their clash with Scotland, Germany then take on Hungary in their second group game. They will then round off their group stage against Switzerland.
