Deals site Wowcher is a go-to for budget-conscious consumers on the hunt for a bargain. As it cuts nearly £1,000 off summer garden sets and offers an Apple iPad for £60 in its newest sale, we've picked out the deals worth buying and ones to avoid.

As with any sale, there are often deals painted out to be better at first glance than they actually turn out to be. And while more than seven tech devices and gadgets appear in its WOW week sale we've picked out the deals we believe are worth buying.

Wowcher shoppers can make the most of its discounts this week as its rare sale runs until this Sunday, June 16. While it includes price drops on furniture, home, and fashion items our resident tech team is focusing on the eye-catching Apple, Acer, and smartwatch deals to see if they're as good as they sound.

Not officially in its WOW sale but a gadget that's caught our eye is the Home Cinema Projector kit, a £36 bundle for film fans that'll help turn your home into a cosy cinema-like space. The 1080 projector has a huge 84-inch screen size.

Now, moving onto its Wow deals, we would recommend is its £49.99 HiFuture headphones which come with an industry-standard Active Noice Cancelling a feature we see on many brands nowadays.

This discreet software helps block out surrounding noise for wearers to avoid interrupting your favourite music or an important phone call while in a busy area. For the price users shouldn't expect the quality of a Sonos or Bose pair but for what you pay these are a good deal - especially if you're looking for a budget tech accessory.

Next up, is the FutureFit Ultra 2 another device we'd say is a mega good deal. Again its features won't compare with the likes of Samsung's Galaxy Watch or an Apple Watch9 but as an entry-level device (even for a kid's first model) this has everything you could want - and for an affordable £39.99.

There's suitable Bluetooth to be able to connect to your phone and a fitness tracking app that'll allow you to keep an eye on your health goals. Plus, the deal is marginally cheaper than Amazon's £41 price.

However, one thing consumers should note is Wowcher's habit of being hush on detailed specifications, it brands the watch as a 'quality display' but doesn't give any resolutions to get an idea of the quality. For this reason, shoppers may want to take a look at the Fitbit Inspire 3 which has an AMOLED touchscreen display.

Wowcher is also selling a £26 Wi-Fi video doorbell, with HD security features including night vision, a 1280 x 720 high-definition resolution and a wide-angle lens of 166degrees. For its price this is another sale offer (reduced from £59.98) we'd say to take a look at if you're after a basic recording device for extra piece of mind.

For swankier features, we would recommend the popular Ring Video Doorbell. More expensive at £99 it has 1080p video quality but its standout feature is its voice-activated Alexa - users are able to tap into the doorbell camera from anywhere if they say 'Hey Alexa show me my front door' on any synced device (like a mobile).

Now onto the 'wow' sale deals, we'd say as tech writers are worthing giving a miss. That's it eye-catching Apple iPad deal and £89 Acer Chromebook Laptop. On all three devices, the main reason is that these are all refurbished, second-hand models, which you can find stated in the tiny T&Cs under the description.

Our biggest caution comes with the refurbished iPad Air model, which shoppers can buy from £69 depending on the condition of the second-hand model. As Wowcher doesn't state the exact year or age of the model you can get a hint from the storage size.

At 16GB this is expected to be a dated model (certainly not its newest 2024 iPad Air or even 2022 model, any model from 2022 has a starting size of 64GB, so that gives a hint at just how old this £69 Wowcher deal is.

From the 'offer' description we can get another idea of the age thanks to its 9.7-inch screen size, and when paired up with the 16GB storage, and a scour at Amazon's similar refurbished deals - this is likely to be a 1st Gen model from 2010, although we can't be sure as its sale page is discreet on exact details.

Wowcher Apple, Acer, and more deals worth buyingSky has an iPad contract that'll help shoppers split the cost of Apple's quality 2022 model. A deal we'd recommend over the refurbished Wowcher deal (Sky/Apple)

We have reached out to Wowcher to confirm the exact model of the refurbished iPad Air featured in the deal and will update the article as soon as we hear.

While some shoppers may be quite happy to pay this knowing the exact dated features others may not be aware of the devices' age and will therefore want another option to look at. If so, we'd recommend Sky Mobile's contract deal on the 2022 iPad Air, the 10th Generation device is split into more affordable from £11.
