No one really likes spending hours scrubbing dirty shoes, and one cleaning expert has dished out a smart new hack for filthy footwear.
It's a great way to save loads of time.
Fed up with endless pairs of mucky trainers cluttering up her home, quick thinking Wendy Glancy, from Cambridge in Cambridgeshire, decided to load them into her dishwasher.
She stacked up multiple pairs of grass and mud-stained trainers after hearing about the hack online.
Intrigued to see if it really worked, the 55-year-old set to work collecting up all the grubby trainers to try it out.

Trolls warned the idea was unhygienic but Wendy was delighted with the results.
"If you find it disgusting, don't do it," she quipped.
One TikTok user wrote: "This is why I would not eat at anyone's house, it's vile."
"No wrong on every level unhygienic," fumed another.
"Omg I am having anxiety. How can you possibly eat from plates from there ever again."
"You're not going to put your pots in there now surely?" asked one user.
And Wendy responded: "I've washed it through an empty wash."
Now she regularly pops her family’s shoes in the dishwasher as chucking them in the machine is loads easier than scrubbing off stains by hand
The combination of high heat and powerful water pressure may cause damage in the long term but she’s happy with the results and has vowed to continue
Items that shouldn't go in the dishwasher
But experts have warned that while trainers might be OK, there are still plenty of items which should never go in the dishwasher, and still need to be washed by hand including:

Sharp knives
The combination of heat and pressure isn't good for high quality knives.
The dishwasher can destroy both the blades and handles of your knives, so if you want them to chop, slice and dice efficiently it might be better to hand clean them.
Anything wooden
Whether it's wooden spoons, chopping boards or bowls - wood and the dishwasher don't mix.
The dishwasher can cause your wooden things to warp and split.
Cast iron
As any food fan knows, water and cast iron don't go together.
Not only can it cause the cast iron to rust, but the rust can also transfer to other items in the same load.
Most importantly, the dishwasher detergents and strong water jets can quickly undo your hard work of seasoning a cast iron pan.
Ceramic and non-stick
Even if it's labelled as dishwasher safe, experts recommend hand washing anything ceramic or with a non-stick coating just in case.
Washing them in the dishwasher will also cause them to wear out much faster.

Insulated travel mugs
Most travel mugs have a vacuum seal that insulates your beverages and keeps them hot or cold.
The dishwasher can compromise that seal, so your mug won’t be effective, but it can also leak water inside the walls and it’ll be sloshing around in there.
It can also damage the outside of your mug and it won’t look as pretty.
