New Year resolutions you should make for 2023 based on your star signAccording to Lizzy, there are ways to lose fat in a healthy way, and that's exactly how she did it. She achieved her results by doing things such as making healthy versions of her favourite foods, making small swaps to her diet, following a structured workout plan and increasing her daily number of steps.
They may seem like simple changes, but they go a long way when it comes to improving your health. You can see what an impact it's had on her body.
Writing on Instagram, Lizzy said: "How I lost fat without being restrictive or cutting out my favourite foods. It’s all good losing fat. but if you want to maintain your physique and not gain 10lbs after. Then you need to make sustainable, non restrictive changes.
"Here are some things you can do to lose fat without going to extremes. Firstly you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat.
"Rather than eating like 1200kcals, start in a 2-300kcal deficit then increase it if your body doesn’t respond for a couple of weeks. Aim for a minimum of 2g of protein per kg of bodyweight. I actually normally average higher and this helps a lot with recovery and keeping satiated. Increase your NEAT so you burn more.
"Follow a structured workout plan. I’ve really been training with intensity and tracking all my workouts, so I’ve managed to maintain a lot my muscle mass in a fat loss phase to get that ‘toned’ look. "Make macro friendly/healthy versions of the foods you love. I have loads of healthy burgers and pizza and pasta recipes on my reels.
"Make small swaps e.g where you normally drive to places, walk. Or where you normally have a full fat Coke, have a diet one. Small changes make a big difference.
"See everything as an average e.g if your step goal is 10k steps, if one day is 6k and one day is 14k that’s fine as it will average out. Don’t skip out on social events. Life is too short to miss out on life. Just be prepared and nourish your body properly before and after."
