AN INTERIOR designer has revealed five things that make your home look cheap.

Brielly shared her interior design no no's via a video posted to her TikTok channel.

1.Ikea furniture

Brielly said that the first thing making your home look cheap is flat-pack Ikea furniture.

She advised using Facebook Marketplace to find second hand and vintage furniture instead.

The interior designer explained: "For the same budget you can get items that are way more premium, and bring interest to your space.

2. Mass produced art

Brielly said that mass-produced art is another thing that is making your home look cheap.

She said: "Is it technically art? Yes.

Is it giving expensive? No.

3.Small rugs

Brielly also isn't a fan of rugs that are too small.

She said they make rooms look non-cohesive and as though the design of the room hasn't been thought out properly.

4.Furniture sets

The interior designer is not a fan of furniture sets.

She said: "I will not be making further comment on this".

5. Empty alcohol bottles as decor

Brielly said that she was guilty of using empty alcohol bottles as decoration when she was 18, but is now not a fan of the trend.

She said they look tacky, and you should get rid of them.

Brielly's video, which was posted under the username @briellynturton, has likely struck a chord with many people, as it has racked up over 1 million views on the video-sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: "Ikea has some very pretty and tasteful options."

Another person said: "My home is almost entirely filled with old pieces.

"I totally agree that second hand often means higher quality for a crazy low price."

A third said: "Who keeps empty alcohol bottles around the house?"

A fourth added: "This is super useful!"
