Cassie Ventura's lawyer has spoken out following P. Diddy's public apology speech and branded it as "pathetic desperation" after footage from 2016 resurfaced of him allegedly assaulting her.
This week, footage from 2016 obtained by CNN was uncovered which captured P Diddy apparently violently shoving, kicking, and throwing objects at his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a California hotel hallway. After the video emerged, the 54-year-old rapper took to his Instagram page to issue an apology to his ex-girlfriend. But since P Diddy's video was posted, Cassie's representatives have hit back calling his words "disingenuous."
On Sunday, Cassie's attorney Meredith Firetog said: "'Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday."

In P Diddy's original apology video, the rapper shared selfie-style video as he spoke out on the footage. He told his followers: "I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. So difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you got to do that. I was f***ed up. I mean I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses, my behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video, disgusting."
He continued: "I was disgusted then when I did it, I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. Asked God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I am committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I'm truly sorry."
This unearthed footage comes after the singer previously filed a lawsuit against the rapper back in November of 2023. At the time, she alleged that Diddy "raped her and perpetually abused her for years," according to court documents obtained by The Mirror.
The case settled the following day, with Diddy's lawyer issuing a statement shared with The Mirror: "Just so we're clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing," and added: "Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims."
