One woman has wowed roast dinner fans with her genius, money-saving hack to make giant Yorkshire puddings.
Roast dinners are a sacred topic in the UK, with debated raging on about how much gravy is too much and if a Yorkshire pudding should even be included in the iconic dish. From cooking roast a turkey in an air fryer, to eating a roast at work, or even filling your Yorkies with jam, everyone has their own, unique way of enjoying the British staple.
But one thing the majority of us can likely all agree on is that if you are going to enjoy a Yorkshire pudding is had to be a crispy and fluffy delight. One woman has gone viral after revealing how she is able to create the perfect, giant Yorkshire pudding. While most people use muffin tins and trays to create perfectly shaped Yorkshire puddings, @J2onyabike on X insists you don't need any of that - she uses an old Fray Bentos tin.
The iconic British brand - known for its easy, convenient meals - sells its famous meaty pies in large, round tines. The Fray Bentos pie, along with products like corned beef and tins of Scotch broth, are long standing members of British cuisine.
After enjoying an all day breakfast, curry, or pie, @J2onyabike keeps the tins for cooking. On X she shared a photograph of her giant Yorkshire pudding creation, carved into the perfect size and shape thanks to the old tin.
Morrisons is slashing over 130 prices on its saver-products from todayShe wrote: "I told my brother about Fray Bentos tins to make Yorkshires in and he didn't believe me...he does now." Thousands of people reacted to the tweet, as one said: "Definitely going to try that myself."
Another added: "I might have to try this. Effectively a free pie dish." "Cracking idea," wrote another. One other X user said: "Good lord. That's amazing." Other pegged the hack as "amazing" and "awesome".
"That's how my parents used to make them back in the '80s/'90s," another declared. Another individual says they have also used the iconic tins for cleaning. They added: "Good for cleaning chains and bike bits in. Best to rinse it well afterwards before cooking the Yorkshires."
One other said: "Good excuse to buy a Fray Bentos pie, I haven’t had one for years and I did like them."
