LOVE Island fans have set the record straight on who they think is at fault for the love triangle between Uma, Ayo and Mimii.

The footballer had his eyes on Mimii from the very first episode, and fans were rooting for their romance as they had undeniable chemistry.

However, his head turned when Uma arrived in the villa, and before long the pair were spotted heading to the Hideaway for some steamy scenes.

Mimii ended up in tears as Uma and Ayo got physical and was further heartbroken when Uma picked her man during a brutal recoupling ceremony.

Then he went on to betray his original love interest even further when Ayo was asked to kiss the girl he thought was the hottest in the villa and he locked lips with Uma.

Originally Love Island fans blamed Uma for stealing the Londoner away from Mimii.

However, now many have hit out at Ayo, saying that he was the villain for displaying no loyalty to Mimii and hurting her feelings.

When Ayo took him to the Hideaway he insisted he had told his current partner that he was open to meeting new people, but the reality was, they never had that conversation.

One person shared their opinion, writing: "Seriously, this forced hate towards Uma is wild. Redirect that energy to the true villain, Ayo."

Another agreed: "Omg Ayo actually kissed Uma thought might be Ronnie in the end, he’s time and time again shown Mimi he settled for her when he actually wants Uma.

"He’s disrespected Mimi time and time again yet people ignore that and project onto Uma. The real villain is Ayo."

A third chimed in: "Twitter is always too quick to hate on Uma when the real villain here is Ayo."

Despite all the drama, things quickly became frosty between Uma and Ayo when she realised he was still keeping Mimii around on the side.

In the end she told him she was done with the love triangle and picked another boy during the recoupling ceremony, allowing Mimii to try again with him.

But Ayo confirmed he would have liked to explore where things could have gone with Uma, telling Maya Jama: "I guess it's just dead now, in the sense of, she's left the situation.

"I wanted to know her a bit more, but I guess that's just a dead line for now."
