When it comes to neighbours and parking, things can often get a little tense – especially when there isn't enough room for everyone. One disgruntled resident has revealed how he was able to get petty revenge on a man who dared to block his driveway.
Sharing the story on social media, he explained: "My neighbour directly across the street has his yard serviced every Wednesday morning around 7.30am, right at the time I am leaving to drop off my kid at daycare and drive to work.
"I have had to get out of my car, go find the guy in the yard across the street and have him move his truck so I can leave. It's happened at least four times since April. I decided that I was done with this dance and decided to park my wife's car on the street where the landscaper parks his truck on Tuesday nights so that come Wednesday morning he wouldn't be able to block my driveway. We also live on a street that you can only park on one side of and the police here ticket very quickly if they see you are parked on the wrong side."
He went on to say there is also a fire hydrant at the front of his house so there's no where else for the gardener to go. He went on: "My neighbour to the north of me parks his truck on the street so with all that the landscaper and his big a** truck and trailer now need to park over a block away and bring all his equipment with him in multiple trips."
Despite being a small win for the angry man it got a big reaction from people reading the Reddit post. One person responded: "It's not like he wasn't given ample opportunity to mend his ways. It's hard to care about someone who doesn't care."
'My wife wants to change our four-year-old's name but I think it is too late'Another user shared: "Our neighbour's lawn guy parked right across our driveway once. I came home and asked him to move, and he told me I could street park, so I told him I will gladly street park and wait to watch the tow truck haul him off. He quickly moved and never blocked our driveway again. People behave this way because they count on others avoiding a confrontation."
And someone else added: "I'm a Mailman and these guys are the worst. They drive the biggest trucks they can find pulling trailers the size of mobile homes. They act like they own the streets and block boxes. Navigating around those monstrosities is one of the reasons I hate spring/summer. Kudos for fighting back against those a*******."
