Gypsy Rose Blanchard has gone viral on social media once again after sharing one of her favourite prison recipes.
The 32-year-old was imprisoned in the US for orchestrating the murder of her mother in 2015 after suffering over two decades of medical abuse at her hands, which eventually turned into violent domestic abuse as Gypsy began to figure out what was happening.
Shortly after her release from prison, where she served eight years of a 10-year sentence, Gypsy became a viral sensation online. While she originally went viral for speaking about her conviction, she is now sharing a little glimpse into the things that would keep her going while she was serving her time.
In the TikTok video, which has gained more than 2.4million likes, Gypsy explained all you need to make the "prison-style" energy drink. She said: "I'm about to show you how to make a prison-style energy drink with only four ingredients. I want to disclose that this is a non-alcoholic drink, so I don't promote alcohol on my channel.
"The first thing you'll need is a bag of Jolly Ranchers, Kool-Aid Hawaiian Punch singles, a strawberry Fanta and Folgers instant coffee." She added: "Everyone in prison usually makes these drinks because nobody gets Red Bull in prison."
You’ve been shaving your legs wrong - my way's faster & gets them smootherShe started off by making sure her Jolly Ranchers (which are like boiled sweets) were all crushed up and that her coffee dissolved in some hot water. After that, she explained: "You take your Kool-Aid single and you put it in your mixing bowl. You'll just get a good swirl around.
"I like to use the Hawaiian Punch because any other flavour would actually just taste really disgusting. You want to use a strawberry Fanta - because the whole point is to make it, like kind of juicy flavoured, like very fruity.
"Just pour your Fanta in there and you'll give it a good mix. It will foam up and that's completely okay. You can either keep swirling it around until the foam goes down or you don't really have to."
The next step was to add in the crushed up sweets for more of that fruit flavour, and then get it ready to serve. Gypsy recommended serving it over ice.
She noted: "You will want to serve it in a cup of ice. Do not try to drink this warm. That would be absolutely disgusting. I know what you're thinking. This looks so gross right?
"I didn't like it at first, but then like, they grew on me. I'm going to give it a nice good little swirl again. All right. And voila. That's all there is to it."
