In a long running and hilarious internet thread, parents have shared hundreds of horror stories about embarrassing monikers for their kids.
A redditor with the username beetjuice98 explained their baby-naming process.
The post read: "I stressed a lot about what my baby's initials would be, enough that I didn't use my first name which had the initials 'LSD' because of connections to the drug.
"Well I had my baby (we didn't share the name before) and initials are TRD.

Another user shared her pain, adding: "Solidarity. I love the names Bethany and Bianca but not with the last initial J."
Dozens more shared their awkward names, with users sharing examples of initials that spell out funny words.
Weddingwoes13 said: "I knew a BMW and an A**."

And Serious_Ad_3123 responded with: "A guy with the initials BRA."
RockabillyPep confessed their initials are BJS, adding: "Never caused me a problem a day in my life.
"It was pointed out to me once at 14, and once at 19 - just a matter-of-fact 'did you know your initials are BJS?'
"I'm in my mid thirties. Hasn't come up since. But I do wonder if it ever occurred to my parents."

Another contributor added some handy tips to prevent other mothers from falling into the same common pitfalls and traps.
Jenniferami suggested: "Not all these are issues for everyone but might be for some.
"Initials spelling an unfortunate word or acronym both three initial and two initial such as STD or VD.
"Names that are considered overly trendy.
"Names that might be more commonly used for pets.
"Names that the parents dislike all the nicknames for, not that that is insurmountable, just a consideration.
"Names that are common nouns with last names that are common nouns such as Crystal Lake or Jade King."
As the fun thread gathered momentum over the past few weeks, and people shared their secrets, u/Mystery_Prime asked if anyone could suggest good nicknames for their baby called Galactica.
"I'm not sure if many people know about the name Galactica, but I found it a few months ago and have been curious to know whether or not it could be nicknamed," the comment read.
"So far I've come up with Gal, Gally and Gala but they don't really stick with me."
